Unbalance is the most common cause of excessive vibration in rotating machinery. TB 210 handles both the simple single-plane case (a thin disc, fan blade, or flywheel) and the more demanding two-plane case (long rotors where balance correction at one plane shifts the vibration at the other).

How the workflow runs

  1. Mount accelerometer on bearing housing; attach phase reference (tachometer reflector or laser)
  2. Run machine at operating speed; TB 210 captures baseline vibration amplitude and phase
  3. Add a known trial weight at a known angular position on the first plane; run again
  4. For two-plane: repeat with trial weight on the second plane
  5. TB 210 calculates the influence coefficients and outputs the final correction weight and angle for each plane
  6. Install correction weights; verify — the software compares residual unbalance against ISO 1940 grade limits

The process is guided step-by-step on screen, with clear prompts at each measurement stage. No manual polar-plot chart-reading is required.

Machines commonly balanced with TB 210

  • Axial and centrifugal fans (HVAC, industrial)
  • Centrifugal pumps and compressors
  • Motor armatures and rotor assemblies
  • Machine-tool spindles
  • Turbine rotors (smaller, accessible in-situ)
  • Grinding wheels and rotary drums

Licence and compatibility

TB 210 is a module add-on to the TVIB base installation. It runs on any PhonoVibe DAQ and on a range of third-party hardware — NI 9234/4431, Modal Shop 485B39, Sinus Apollo, DT9837. The module licence is perpetual with two years of free software updates included.

A general TVIB brochure is available via the datasheet link above. A TB 210-specific module brochure is available on request from sales@tieraonline.in.
