The TMFSS Macro is built for one purpose: produce exactly the right fault signature, every time. The solid rigid foundation means the vibration pattern on Tuesday is the same as on Monday — essential when training a condition-monitoring model or running a student cohort through the same fault set across different batches.
14 fault types in the standard Macro fault library
The Macro’s base fault library covers the faults that appear most frequently in industrial rotating machinery:
- Misalignment (angular and parallel)
- Unbalance in rotating machinery
- Bearing faults — outer race, inner race, cage, rolling element
- Foundation looseness
- Coupling studies (COS)
- Cocked bearings
- Eccentric and cocked rotors
- Belt drive faults
- Cracked shafts
- Reciprocating mechanisms
- Damping (types and mechanisms)
- Sleeve bearings
- Gearbox faults
- Pump cavitation
Add-on kits extend the library with bent shaft, finned rotor, accelerated bearing wear, lockable bearing, and mechanical rub configurations. Each fault ships with a technical note explaining the underlying physics and the characteristic spectrum signature — useful for teaching and for algorithm ground-truth labelling.
Speed control and acquisition
The VFD with WiFi control software lets you set precise RPM targets from a laptop or tablet without touching the machine. The built-in tachometer provides a real-time 1× reference signal — essential for synchronous averaging, order tracking, and phase-based balancing analysis.
